Publications & News Reports:Is Anybody Coming? is a data visualization project that brings to light the harrowing experiences of Kibbutz Kfar Aza during the October 7th attack. This installation offers a window into the unfolding crisis through the lens of real-time WhatsApp communications.
The project curates messages from eight different WhatsApp groups, creating a raw, unfiltered narrative of the events as they transpired. Viewers are given two ways to engage with this digital testimony:
- A live display that streams the messages in real-time, allowing observers to experience the intensity and urgency of the communications as they occurred.
- Interactive touchscreens that enable visitors to scroll through the messages at their own pace.
Exhibited as part of the "Through Their Eyes - Kfar Aza" exhibition, this visualization serves as a digital memorial, preserving the voices and experiences of those affected by the attack. It offers a profound and intimate perspective on the human impact of conflict, bridging the gap between personal communication and public remembrance.
